1. Another South African player. Thomas has real PMAs with Spain as he won his first European Tour tournament in May this year when he won the Spanish Open and he also went on to be 9th in the Mallorca Open.
2. This guy has a lot of talent as he showed in 2009 when he posted two big top tens - 7th in the WGC-CA in America and 8th in the Open.
3. After having a poor run of results in July, August and early September he took a 3 week break and last week was his first back when he was T30th in the Dunhill but a closer look shows that his 68-68-69 finish was evidence of good, if 'under the radar', play. It will have tuned him up well for this week.
4. He will be well suited here as he is best on fast greens and at 296+ yards he's a 'sneaky' long driver.
IN SUM: Looks to be an outsider with a serious chance.
