60/1 MARTIN KAYMER became the
TWELTH winning outright bet on for
Elliott's Premier Sports Betting this year when he won the USPGA Championship, the final major of the season after at three hole play off. He was the third winner at or over 50/1 in the last eight weeks as
Hunter Mahan won the prestigious WGC-Bridgestone Invitational tournament last week and
Bubba Watson won the Travelers' Championship on June 27th.
The outright profit on all outright golf bets is now over 359 points.
In addition, DUSTIN JOHNSON T5th 55/1, was also one of Keith's outright bets. He would have been in the play off but he was controversially given a two shot penalty after playing the last hole so finished T5th.
Keith Elliott: "A real chance for Kaymer to land his breakthrough major"
The reasoning behind the chances of Kaymer and Johnson were right 'on the money' - read Keith's full analysis of each player below:
 |
| Kaymer claimed his first Major Championship with the UPSGA after play-off victory over Bubba Watson. |
MARTIN KAYMER WON 60/1
1. Has posted 4 top 12s in his last 7 starts, notably T8th in the US Open at Pebble Beach and T7th in the British Open at St Andrews. He was also T6th in the USPGA in 2009 at Hazeltine, to give him 3 top 8s in majors in his last 4 starts.
2. 6th WGC-HSBC Champions and 3rd WGC-CA Championship for 2 top 6s in the last 3 strokeplay WGCs, so he's very much a player for the big events.
3. His putting has improved by 2 shots a tournament in 2010, directly reflected in his scoring avg which is now sub-70.
4. Martin has 5 European Tour wins in the last 30 months and is a cool player when the Sunday heat is on.
IN SUM: A class act and proven winner with a solid all-round game and a big event temperament. This is a real chance for Kaymer to land his breakthrough major.
DUSTIN JOHNSON T5TH 55/1
1. Has become renowned for 'blowing' the US Open. However he's sure to have learned from that experience and let's remember he now has 3 top 15s in majors inside a year as he was 10th last year in the USPGA, 8th in this years' US Open, and 14th in the British Open last month.
2. Disappointing from our point of view that he couldn't manage better than 15th at Firestone - nevertheless it was a very solid week as he was 6 under for his last three rounds.
3. As a dual Pebble Beach winner, 'seaside' courses clearly don't worry him and his long-hitting backed up by solid iron play and putting should be made for this track.
IN SUM: An early chance to make amends for handing over the US Open on a course that should suit him.
