Double Dutch delight in 2010 World Cup qualifiers

Another successful betting day for members of Elliott's Premier Sports Betting when the advice, and all the bets, for the big midweek World Cup qualifying games at Hampden Park and Wembley proved spot on.

SCOTLAND v HOLLAND

Arjen Robben holds off Scotland's Paul Hartley in the World Cup Qualifier at Hampden ParkTwo bets were given:
HOLLAND to win: WON 6/5
HT/FT DRAW/HOLLAND: WON 9/2

"Scotland are weak defensively, lack creativity and any real goal threat, and especially now they are without McFadden and left back Davidson they will surely struggle to create, let alone take goal chances. After all, the Scots haven't scored in 4 of their 7 WCQ games. Holland may lack Scotland's incentive as they are way clear in the table, while the Scots must win to have any chance of second place and then maybe the play-offs.
HT/FT Bet: Nevertheless the Dutch are simply a class or two above the Scots. It may well be that the Scots fail to score in the first half and then 'chase the game' in the second period when the Dutch can pick them off on the counter attack, so the HT/FT DRAW/SCOTLAND bet at 9/2 look a solid bet.
IN SUM: If Holland had to win they would be strong bet material. As it is I still think they will win as they are simply a much, much better side than this Scots team."

ENGLAND v CROATIA

Steven Gerrard scores the first of his two goals against Croatia at WembleyTwo bets were given:
ENGLAND to win: WON 8/13
BOTH SIDES TO SCORE: WON 10/11

"The stats suggest we should expect England to concede:
1. England in WCQ games (excluding the useless Andorra side) have played 5 Home and Away and conceded in 4 of those 5 games.
2. They have conceded at home to both the Ukraine and Kazakhstan in WCQ matches.
3. In their last 6 friendlies England have kept just one clean sheet.
OUTRIGHT: Nevertheless, I expect England to win for four key reasons:
1. England are now a really potent side going forward. Despite the press criticism, Heskey is the ideal foil for Rooney, the brilliant Defoe is a super sub, especially when the opposing defence is tiring in the second half, and in-form Aaron Lennon bring real pace on the right. There is still the goal threat from Gerrard and Lampard as well as from set plays with Upson and Terry so strong.
2. Croatia are much weakened without Modric and Corluka.
3. England are at home.
4. England hammered Croatia 4-1 in Zagreb."
